The arrangement is stated first, so that nothing below is read out of context. cmmcalibrationindianapolis.com is a marketing and referral website operated by Indianapolis CMM Calibration and Repair, it is not a calibration laboratory, and no CMM Calibration work is carried out by the operator of this site.
External laboratories receive the requests submitted here. Each holds its own accreditation, works to its own quality management system, and issues its own certificates and reports in its own name. Which laboratory receives a request is settled on evidence of current accreditation and scope, on capability demonstrated for the measurement being requested, and on record of delivery.
That introduction is paid for: the operator of this website receives a referral fee, a fixed fee for the use of this website, or a commission on work that is placed. The price you are quoted is unaffected, and the payment gives the operator no role in performing, approving or certifying any measurement. The terms & conditions state it again in the same terms, so the commercial relationship behind this site is on the record and not left to inference.
Categories of Information
The list below is complete as at the date of this policy.
- Supplied with a request: name, company, email address, telephone number.
- Supplied with a request: the item, the quantity, the measurement points, the tolerances, the standard required, the turnaround needed.
- Recorded automatically: IP address, browser and device type, the referring page, the pages viewed on this site.
The first two lines are what a quotation cannot be prepared without. The third is the ordinary technical information a browser sends to any web server. Payment card details are not collected through this website.
Why It Is Held
Nothing collected here is held without a purpose, and the purposes are these: to review a request, to obtain a quotation from a laboratory able to perform the work, and to correspond with you about it. Availability, security and page usage account for the technical record.
Sale is not one of the purposes. Neither is rental, nor trade, nor supply to a third party for that party to market from.
Who Information Is Shared With
Request detail is shared with the laboratory or laboratories asked to quote or perform the work, and with the service providers who host this website, deliver its email, or provide analytics. Those providers act on instructions and are not permitted to use the information for their own purposes.
Information is also disclosed where disclosure is required by law, or where an accreditation body exercises a right of access to the records of a laboratory performing work.
Confidentiality of Customer Information
Drawings, specifications, tolerances, measurement data and results are confidential. The standard applied is the one that applies to accredited laboratory work, and access is restricted to the people who need the material to prepare a quotation or to complete the work.
Where the law requires a disclosure, notice that it has been made is given to you — unless giving that notice is itself prohibited.
Cookies
This site uses cookies only where they are needed for it to function and, where analytics is enabled, to count visits in aggregate. Most browsers allow cookies to be blocked or deleted; blocking them does not prevent use of this site, although a submitted form may not be recorded correctly.
Retention
Each inquiry record is kept while it is needed to answer the request and to satisfy accounting and record-keeping obligations. After that it is deleted, or stripped of the detail that identifies you. Where a laboratory performed work, the records it holds are retained under that laboratory's own records policy.
What You Can Ask For
You may ask what information is held about you, ask for it to be corrected, or ask for it to be deleted, using the contact routes on the contact page. Requests are answered within thirty days. Any marketing email sent carries an unsubscribe link, and an unsubscribe request is honored on receipt.
Changes and Governing Law
Updates to this statement are possible, and the version published at cmmcalibrationindianapolis.com is always the version that applies. The laws of Indiana govern it.
