How the work is arranged, and what has not changed as it grew.

Background

Indianapolis CMM Calibration and Repair coordinates performance verification, geometric adjustment and gage calibration for manufacturers across central Indiana. Work is placed with laboratories accredited to ISO/IEC 17025, matched to the machine's range, volume and required uncertainty before a quote is issued. The scope of each job is checked against the performing laboratory's published accreditation before it is booked, not after the certificate arrives.

Background

The service grew out of a straightforward gap: quality departments running coordinate measuring machines needed calibration scheduled around production, not around a lab's convenience, and needed a certificate that survived an IATF or AS9100 audit without a follow-up call. On-site and ship-in routes are both offered because different machines, volumes and downtime tolerances call for different answers, and pretending one route fits every shop floor does not serve either side of that decision.

Central Indiana's manufacturing base runs heavily on engine, transmission and high-temperature alloy work, and the calibration and programming demands of that base — bore and form tolerance inspection, cylinder-head and block layout, hot-section part verification — shape which artifacts, probing strategies and reporting formats get used day to day.

What Guides the Work

These are the operating commitments the work is measured against.

  • 01

    As-found first

No adjustment proceeds before as-found data is captured and recorded.

  • 02

    Scope before quote

The performing laboratory's accredited scope is confirmed against the job before booking.

  • 03

    Documented decision rules

Conformance statements state the rule applied, not just pass or fail.

  • 04

    Downtime accounted for

Scheduling works around production shutdowns, not the other way around.
